There are a lot of things people get wrong about trans women but "making this space welcoming to cis men will make it more welcoming to trans women!" is I think the most wrong and also most common thing that a lot of folks are maddeningly attached to.

i do think madelyne's grievances with scott in Inferno are Pretty Goddamn Reasonable but it IS funny when people see the Nothing Being In A Nowhere Place sequence and go "omg she should have killed him for this!" girl it was a dream.

Poor Maddie. It's so funny reading the early stuff with her because the conventions of the time were all being used to say, "She's not Jean, Jean is dead but you can find someone who makes you just as happy," but now it all reads like foreshadowing because Jean coming back to life is just a given.
