The NYT polling average includes results from 47-36% the last two weeks, telling us it's a wildly inaccurate measure in general.

Wish you were here.....

"I am so noble and self-sacrificing that I will create a PAC with YOUR money so I can waltz around the country getting attention and laying the foundation for another presidential run after failing before."

Bleccccccccch.

Not looking there myself this time. Plenty of new blood to consider.

Just a synonym for something physical that touches something else. Not many weapons aren't kinetic, when you think about it.

Maybe in military terms, it means up close too. Not sure.

Just check the writing against an assignment you know the student did. They are typically quite different.

In no way should we consider Wiles to be an "old school" or "normie" Republican of nostalgic memory. Such an idealized "old school" figure (like maybe Jim Baker, for whom she worked in the 80s?) would have met a President who thinks he can do whatever the fuck he wants & slapped him upside the head.

Also kudos for the Bloomberg article on yield where I found the buried reference to cat bond investing. I don't have a spare mil for the fund, but some research turned up the ETF ILS with a fat yield and diversified portfolio. That is worth a chunk.

Sweet.

Because newspaper people who have never run a city or run for any position in a city are the best voice on how to run a city.

Nope.

Just about ready to stop reading every op-ed and newspaper editorial out there. Few are any better than most social media (which you have to sift for the truffles).

All of it...the "shithole countries" stuff, the racial profiling/mass deportation stuff, the racist and transphobic purges of the military, the willingness to stoke political violence to protect white supremacy, the Camp of the Saints immigration policy...it was all there to see in Dec 2015.

I tried to say that a number of times after the election and got the knee-jerk "The statistics were right!!!!!!" response, proving the blind spot was alive, well, and consuming electoral chances like a black hole.
