In Carrboro, we saw that new development in key locations, because of its MUCH stricter standards, can even catch and slow water from neighborhoods without controls and reduce flooding locally, even in a huge storm like Chantal.

Want to stop flooding? Build smart and retrofit older neighborhoods!

NC’s House Majority Leader has set his sights on UNC’s LGBT Center’s measly $200k in state funding… despite the fact that UNC’s new conservative incubator “School of Civic Life and Leadership” has burned up $2 million plus of taxpayer dollars this year. Appeals to “viewpoint diversity” are a joke.

Caldwell was a pivotal figure who advocated for and participated in the desegregation of schools in Carrboro during the Civil Rights Movement.

Descendants of Toney and Nellie Strayhorn unveiled the recently approved marker of Honorary Strayhorn Drive in #Carrboro today. The Strayhorns are thought to be the first Black family to settle in what is now Carrboro, and their descendants have lived here since 1879.
