These artists are taking certain financial losses and severe retribution from the Trump administration to take this noble stand

They are truly heroes who deserve our support
Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.

Earlier this year the people at 60 Minutes urged me to overcome fear and speak on camera about what it's like being a lawyer being targeted by Trump. When I did, they lavished me with praise -- noting I was the only person willing to do it.

Now it is their turn to show courage.

I've been reporting on the criminal justice system for over a decade and have lived in an authoritarian country overseas, but I've never seen anything like the police presence in ICE-occupied Memphis. Here's my dispatch: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Barbara Johns was a courageous civil rights activist who spoke out against inferior conditions at her segregated high school in Virginia. Today her legacy of fighting for equal opportunity for all students will be commemorated with a statue in the U.S. Capitol.

In moments of disaster, it is the responsibility of all of us in elected office — transcending party lines — to respond to our constituents with compassion, resolve, and unity of purpose.

Trump’s obsession with me is beyond weird. He needs serious help.

Since he has no economic policies to tout, he’s resorting to regurgitating bigoted lies instead.

He continues to be a national embarrassment.
Trump: "Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is. With her little turban. I love her. She comes in, does nothing but bitch ... we ought to get her the hell out ... she's here illegally."

The crowd in Pennsylvania then starts chanting "send her back!"

As with everything he says, this is wildly uninformed. Formula keeps getting better and saves lives. And modern research indicates that outcomes are roughly the same. There are reasons to breastfeed but your child isn’t suffering if you don’t
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

#ICE isn't "deporting" immigrants, it is kidnapping them.

#DOGE isn't "fixing" the government, it is dismantling it.

#Trump isn't "helping" Americans, he is retaliating against them.

#PamBondi isn't "upholding" the Constitution, she is ignoring it.

🧵This 58-year-old nurse from Maryland is seen being violently dragged along the ground by officials in Ghana.

Trump deported her there.

This abhorrent & disgusting abuse of a woman who saved American lives and cared for injured and ill Americans for 30 years.

All the details below are worse.

Past is prologue.

In 1933, during the Great Depression, a group of wealthy businessmen tried to overthrow the US government and install a fascist dictator to protect their own interests.

And everything that led to it feels way too familiar right now.

This is not a history lesson, it’s a warning.
