1st time visit to Burnham beeches back in June. It’s a pretty special place. Amazing wood pasture and scrubby edges. The mire with Royal Fern was an unexpected surprise!

BIG TREE GOOD!! This ancient oak “The Old Man of Calke” is one of my faves. 10m girth and conpletely hollow. It’s seen some things I bet! Just as impressive is the ancient lime at the same site. Calke Abbey, Derbyshire. #ancienttrees #trees #nature
