The wilderness area at monks wood is inspiring. Natural process in action!
Emergent young oaks, ready to broaden into a tree canopy over the understorey of hawthorn/blackthorn thicket, which protected them from deer. Future ancient woodland in the making. All natural colonisation, unmanaged, at our Monks Wood site. #forests #trees #rewilding #sustainability #conservation
