The next day: René opens the door at the Turali Inn to see Lamaty'i standing there. "Wuk Lamat!! You're early!" Lamaty'i crosses her arms and says "Training is differen't today. Sit on the sofa." René sheepishly sits on the sofa, and Lamaty'i holding a big blanket says "Lay down." He lays down and she tucks the blanket around him. Then she fetches a fat cat and places it on top of him. "Undara?" He says, "What are they here for?" "Now you can't move." Lamaty'i replies. She sits down with a book next to him and clears her throat. René looks excited. She leans in and then makes a horrified expression before looking over at René in irritation. "These aren't Turali letters!" She protests. "No... No my books are written in Eorzean." René grins apologetically, though he's clearly amused. "Sometimes Doman..."

René and Lamaty'i cheerily chatting, Lamaty'i with an axe on her shoulder, René scratching the back of his head in a tank top. She says "Thank you for training with me! But you know... For the warrior of light, I never catch you training. You only do it when I invite you to train. Why is that?" René replies "Oh! Aha- well... I don't train for fun you know. I never dreamt of being the strongest or anything. If it were up to me, I'd be reading all day." Wuk Lamat looks confused. "You mean... You never dreamt of being a warrior? Why are you so good at it?" René is sheepish. "Wuk Lamat I- Um... I mean..." He wrings his hands and looks away, clearly not wanting to say what he was thinking. Then he says "Lunch?" Lamaty'i points and leans up to him angrily. "Hey! Don't clam up on me! I promised to speak my true mind more and that goes both ways!! What are you thinking of?!" René frowns nervously. "Promise... You shouldn't assume everyone is doing what they dreamt of doing. I dreamt of being a doctor, but never got the chance. I never trained because I wanted to, I trained because I feared death." "Maybe I'm lazy, but after um... I died once. And we all saved the world at the edge of the universe. I decided I'd had enough of that. And if a god can't kill me, I deserved to read all the books I wanted." Lamaty'i looks concerned and murmurs "You died?" René waves his hands "But like- that's fine! This is fun! I like training with you!" "Yeah, yeah..." Lamaty'i still looks concerned. Lamaty'i looks thoughtful. #Renécomic #Renéty'i
