Celebrating OBon, a traditional Japanese Zen festival honoring and connecting with the spirits of our departed loved ones, at one of my favorite places, Dai Bosatsu Zendo in the beautiful Catskills mountains. The dead are never really gone as long as they live in our hearts.

My hometown Westerly RI. A town of about 30,000; around 1,000 showed up, marching from the train station to Town Hall. This is a tiny part of the crowd in front of Town Hall.

Because the government has gone completely insane and the news is depressingly dark, I offer a photo of my dog Luna, playing in the snow. I hope it lightens your heart at least a little.
