Don't want to think about holidays ending and this is definitely helping
Three musicians from the Midwest formed Emeralds and made 5 albums of out there electronica. Somewhere between drone and krautrock, this feels appropriate for a warm bank holiday Monday: open.spotify.com/track/2Paw6r... listen like and share, and perhaps try the ego l whole album? x

Wonderful tune & message! ❤️
A bank holiday weekend in late August should be filled with sunshine and laughter so it's sad to see the headlines and the anger. Today's choice is from the long lamented I Am Kloot: open.spotify.com/track/2f7e26... Be kind to each other, splendid people. X

Covering Friday has a bit of a swing to it today: open.spotify.com/track/0LEmKT... The legend Buddy Rich and his big band powering through Norwegian Wood. Worth a listen if only for his easy banter with the crowd before they kick it off. HAPPY FRIDAY!

It's clear that Eze prefers Arsenal to minutes of football- totally fair enough and if they do better than Tottenham over the next few years then fair play. No prizes for coming second though obvs

It's not too difficult to slip into a slowly rising tide of cortisol these days so if you feel the need to quell the stress and feed the peace, here's a playlist I made for quieter moments. If you enjoy listening as much as I did compiling then a chill awaits... x

@stellacreasy.bsky.social hi! I'm really sad to say this as a massive fan of yours and a party member for 30 years but if the government don't recognise the state of Palestine I'm going to join @greenparty.org.uk - I know I'm shouting in the wind here but...

@joemuggs.bsky.social also observed this. He's also massively overrated imho
Tim Minchin calling people smug is like Farage calling someone a racist.
My word Tim, have you done your room reading?

So as we lost the great Eamon Downes aka Liquid last week, @danmallender.bsky.social asked my thoughts about why "Sweet Harmony" is such an anthem among anthems, and I said this.

Its interesting as someone who grew up in the UK in the 80s to see Trump caught in a Murdoch / Maxwell political riptide. My guess is taking on the Dirty Digger is a fatal error for Trumpski

How can the world watch? Forget about narrow economic advantage and nonsensical immature ideas of power - leaders of the world need to stand against the Israel & the US now. None more so than the UK and Germany who are genuinely complicit and therefore have at least some leverage

We are receiving desperate messages of starvation from #Gaza, including from our colleagues.

Food prices have increased 40 fold.

UNRWA has enough food for the entire population for over three months, stockpiled just outside Gaza.

Lift the siege and let aid in safely and at scale.

Such sad news - a legendary tune and a beautiful person
Devastated by the news we lost our good friend Eamon Downes aka Liquid last night. He wrote a tune that took an entire generation & beyond directly to the spirit of freedom, and what music can mean to help us understand our place in the world. Rave in Power mate 💔

Sorry but personally if a miniature horse woke me up from anesthesia by banging out nonsense on a miniature keyboard it would send me into a liminal space between life and death from which I would never return
