I’ve written about this in my book: Subtitles are the last chance directors have to affect their films, and incumbent on them to check & edit. But at the Netflix level today, not shocked that RJ wasn’t involved - even offered - that edit. (I love RJ - gave him his 1st PA job on my Omaha the movie)

It’s increasingly being done by AI - or really sub-AI - software, since it’s been done with computers for at least the last 7-10 years with greater frequency and more accuracy. But 3 years ago, humans had to edit. Now? Much less human editing….

To be fair, if the “image” he wants to project is that of an unthinking bigot who doesn’t mind losing any more voters, who are we to stop him?? Those with hearing impairment can just use Fox News’ closed captions which quoted Trump: “I like minors.”
