Seattle sports enjoyerer. I'm in a few fantasy leagues. Trying to have a good frequency. Co-host of a popular unreleased podcast.
Pay way too much for Comcast to ruin a Seahawks game.

The Mariners making actual moves at the trade deadline had me all nostalgic for the first year they made moves because they were really truly Going For It. 30 years ago the Mariners had a trade deadline that made a difference. Let's hope history repeats!

The Mariners and the 1995 Trade Deadline: The Anatomy of Going For It
Once upon a time, the Mariners saw a chance to grab a playoff appearance and actually went for it. Let’s relive that magical moment in Mariners history. And maybe, just maybe, history is repeating.

Look how they massacred my boy 😭

But seriously, if you had to name players in MLB history who were the least likely to get stabbed, Joey Cora would be on that list!
That Time Joey Cora Got Stabbed
Mariners-Padres history takes a shocking turn. Plus, a fun Joey Cora story as a palate cleanser.

I was going to try and write something up about this, but time had other ideas, so here’s a little thread about how Ken Griffey Jr helped shape Jackie Robinson Day and why it matters.

New newsletter/blog/website site! I'm still fixing a lot of formatting and figuring this all out, but I got a domain to go along with it, so if I ever have to move it again that'll make all the links and things easier.

Like the Rays, the Mariners once lost use of their dome due to issues with the roof. I wrote about the way the American League handled the situation, which was mostly to taunt the Mariners with "Your roof! Your roof is falling down! We don't need no water, you can finish the season on the road!"
My Kingdome for a Roof!
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a team playing in a indoor stadium, must be in want of a roof. The 2025 Tampa Bay Rays, meet the 1994 Seattle Mariners.

Tomorrow! The 1994 Mariners can relate to the 2025 Rays. I look at why MLB made them finish the season on the road rather than a AAA park and can only conclude it's because they hated the Mariners. (I kid! ...kinda.)
