Quite honestly, it's also just incredibly energizing to be highlighting and celebrating exciting pockets of the industry at a time where there is so much IP glut and design stagnation.

We're not in the green yet, but the viewers are coming. And the patrons. Loads of exciting stuff coming too.

honestly I think it's by design that they term "AI" has been used so broadly. it's like a bunch of useless stuff that uses our resources and creates shit, is piggybacking on some novel tools that are somewhat helpful. or like, medical research. where this type of pattern recognition is useful.

simple ML tools are absolutely useful in many digital creative fields. noise reduction in audio is a good example. or content aware fill in Photoshop which is at least a decade old now. deepfakes in CG etc etc.
