Santa Fe 2-10-4 #5000 has a westbound freight in tow at Ricardo, New Mexico in March, 1943. This Baldwin-locomotive was built in 1930, nicknamed "Madam Queen." It racked up 1.7 million miles before its retirement in 1953. It’s now on display in Amarillo. Jack Delano photo. #trains #40s #newmexico
