I totally assumed this was a 13 year old writing this for that point in their school career, and not for a science class.

It's from a university student!

When I see a presentation that obviously has the first image AI spat out stuck in I lose confidence, but if it's harder to tell or appears to be well integrated and not just the first result, I don't mind. To me it's about effort and editing, and I find the same thing with text.

Yet again Musk has taken one single idea out of context, missing that the context is what makes it work. Without that it's just a shitty idea. It's not only dumb, it betrays a shocking inability to actually reason about the world and to ask why.

SOMA, sort of. You can disable death. I've played through with and without death and don't think it makes a big difference, the game is emotionally brutal regardless. Not hard brutal, but stuck with me more than most games. Hardcore in a way.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm? I think SFO is the second worst airport I've used, behind LAX.

I think it's probably because that article says "it's 1 Jan 1999" 6 times on it while not having a meta tag for a publish date.

People love to complain about Google support, but Apple support are just shrugging and saying they don't know.

I asked for them to credit my soon-to-expire iCloud storage so that the photos won't get deleted while they investigate, and it seems they won't even do that.

I wonder how much TfL could save per year by not charging, that's a lot of gate lines that don't need maintenance, a lot of billing charges saved, and (good or bad) a lot of salaries for customer support and revenue enforcement saved.

It's not 6bn, but it might be a substantial contribution.

Do the still have their support IRC channel? I always used to go straight there for support. Rather than get a non answer from a support rep you could get an honest answer or big fix from the engineer who wrote the thing.

Perhaps: “AI is not a substitute for learning the skills, and requires another different set of skills to use. It’s possible to get good results, but requires a comparable amount of effort to not using AI, so be judicious in your usage”?
