As the days are shorter and rainier, I’m enjoying being in cozy nooks reading around the house. The smell of orange and cloves tisanes steam whatever room I’m occupying where words make my brain sparkle like Christmas lights. Tis the season.

I’ve been at Edge-Lit this weekend and I’m a bit overwhelmed by there being so many amazing horror writers that I admire here! It can be tough walking up to people you don’t know (and who don’t know you), but I really think connecting is important. Thank you for such a great event!

I still don’t feel like writing; I guess grief sucker punched me good. But next Monday, I’m going to try to get back into it and write something. And I’m nothing if not stubborn.

My piece ‘To Live in Fear… Or Not?’ is available now to buy in the anthology ‘There’s Nothing Out There’ - a collection of essays on the art in horror films about being lost. As someone who spends most of her life being lost, this appeals 😆

This wonderful anthology on horror films about being lost includes my take on the British cult classic ‘In Fear’. I love this film, but you’ll have to read this to find out why!

Eek! I took a little look on Threads and there’s so much inflammatory content there. Yes, the world is a shitshow now, but I don’t need it making me sick with worry. I need community, understanding and empathy, not outrage spurred on by anonymity. #writingcommunity
