I'm sorry, how did you get Hakchi to work on a Game & Watch?

They're not that easy to mod. No data port; you have to get into the hardware, and they don't hold a lot of data. You couldn't turn one into one of those handhelds that hold all of your favorites. I get what you're saying but I don't think they were concerned with piracy/emulation on these.

I have zero issue with characters being designed and depicted that way and TBH I go for specific body types in character creators because my brain says, "girls are pretty and I want to look at them," but Eve is quite literally just engaging in stylish violence; there's nothing horny about it.

There's also the whole "everyone is beautiful and no one is horny" criticism of media and I think it's very prevalent in games. I played the Stellar Blade demo during the Steam sale and was utterly shocked at how utterly sterile the eye-candy was. The male-gaziness of it is so shallow.

Mass Effect had sex scenes. Not perfect and kind of tame, but they were attempting something. Would like to see devs keep that going.

Yeah. It’s hard to articulate, but I guess I want something that is a good game that also doesn’t shy away from sex. Not so much a porn game, we have plenty of those, but something that just says and shows “some of these characters are sexual people.”

There’s nothing lesser about fan work simply appreciating the original, but as artists, we can use things like fanart, fanfic, and fan music to dig deeper; both into the original work and into ourselves. It’s surprising the connections we can find that aren’t readily apparent.

This arrangement is an intersection of a lot of different things: a pandemic-fueled hyperfocus on the game, a rediscovery of my affinity for Bollywood, a desire to reconnect with my Indian heritage, and an emergence from a years-long artistic funk in the wake of the loss of my first son.
