So the initial recruits are getting hired at GS-5 or 7. 2025 base (without locality pay) for a GS-5 is like 35k (pay tables are public so you can look it up). With locality pay it’s more - GS-5 step one is 50k which in the Bay Area is pretty bad. Not sure where the Murdoch Post are getting those #s
