Dude was a beast. D-Day landings, got on the beach, shot two German snipers, then charged through a minefield, clearing a path through that minefield for his platoon to take that section of the beach. Doing it all so fast, he was wounded by friendly fire when other Canadians thought he was a German.

James Doohan, the actor who played Scotty in Star Trek, was a genuine Canadian war hero, serving as a lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Artillery during WWII, storming Juno Beach on D-Day, and later becoming a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force
