you can have cult of personality-based authoritarian consolidation or you can blow up the economy and make everyone’s lives noticeably worse but it’s difficult to see how you manage both
things will probably go to shit, but i suspect that Trumpist consolidation will not work primarily because almost every successful regime consolidation we've seen involves buying off the middle class

has tariffs to address problems he doesn’t understand, and vague ideas about tax and migration. There’s no serious thinking.
