A photographer since the mid-1970 and being published since the early 1980s. Born in the UK, Canada has been my home since the late 1990s.
They should set up a dealer network in Canada to help Canadians boycott American vehicles.

Thank you. I've heard about snowmobilers hitting power and telephone lines because the snow was up to the top of the utility poles in the early 1980s.

Thank you. I cleaned the snow off the car and dug the car out of the snow in the hope that we can get to do a big grocery shop tomorrow. Some local roads have been closed since Monday. They're finally opening them up today.

I've got quite a list of species photographed in Saskatchewan at around -30°C. I remember photographing a sunset at -40° when there was Snow Buntings flying past me to roost in a reed bed.

That sounds like a winter around here 15 or so years ago when the water mains in towns were freezing.

Yes we can hear them on a nearby lake.

There's a reason why Saskatchewan has "Land of Living Skies" on their licence plates.

I've been boycotting American goods for over 12 months. Supporters of the fascist regime, for example Amazon and Home Depot don't get my business. I deleted all meta apps after deleting my accounts.

Time for the civilised world to close their borders to trade with the US.

Obviously a wooden cross is too much effort.

We're supposed to be in the Juncos year round range. We do occasionally have a few hang around in summer but I think that we get too much snow for them in the winter. I suspect the few that do hang around in winter is because people are feeding the birds.

We never used to get Juncos over winter, they always carried on south at the first sight of snow. But that past couple of winters there's been one or two hanging around.

-24°C here and the usual birds around the feeders although the American Goldfinch numbers are down but the numbers have been fluctuating for weeks with anywhere between 10 and 100.

I know someone who free swims in Colpoy's Bay year round if it's not frozen. She takes daily water temperature readings and sometimes the water is much warmer than the air.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It was included in a portfolio of my work published in a photography magazine in the 1980s.

Another thing to consider is that base model cameras generally have less tight tolerances and my theory is that it makes them less prone to jamming due to expansion and contraction. A worn camera will have looser tolerances still.

The "pro" cameras with a freezeproof rating are only rated down to -10°C (14°F) which is why I ignore the ratings.
