You better get behind Ed on this @albomp.bsky.social it's what we all expect from a Labor government.
Australia doesn't have a gas shortage problem.

We have a gas export problem, and Australians are paying the price.

Great to see this issue being discussed in Parliament this week! #auspol

Since the mid 1990s, Norway has imposed a 56 per cent "special tax" for oil and gas companies, alongside a 22 per cent corporate tax rate.

Australia could learn a lesson from this and make companies pay their fair share for our natural resources.

Our healthcare system is strained with packed waiting rooms, patients waiting in pain for years, and delayed appointments due to cost. But a solution exists.

A 25% tax on gas exports could raise $17 billion a year, funding that could help our healthcare system.

GST revenue is not growing in line with Australia’s economy, which means less money for our states and territories.

Instead of just raising the GST we could tax the gas industry properly to fund essential services.

South Australia pushed ahead with this while conservative politics and other states said it wouldn't work, the lights would go out and the world will end. Obviously none of this happened and SA is now the gold standard for energy supply in Australia.
100% renewables on a grid is impossible and will result in the collapse of all things holy 🤷‍♀️

Well, it won't and SA hit 155% renewables on the weekend and is still, as far as I know (‪@sedvitae.bsky.social‬?), functioning. So there's the answer to your doubters #energy
