Far Country, which was one of the early Battletech novels. I got eight pages in and hit my third "that's not how that fucking *works*" (at least one of which was physics-related, rather than lore-related). Nope.

I'd really encourage people who dismissed Jan. 6 as not that bad, or not a harbinger of things to come, to shut their mouths for a bit and do some reflection. Why were they so eager to move on and ignore what this event was all about?
