The NDP's first official leadership debate did a disservice to the party, its members, to francophones, and to Quebec. After April's result, there needs to be real & substantive debate about what happened and what should happen next. This wasn't it.

The way @zachlowenba.bsky.social and @howardbeck.bsky.social have talked about the MVP race between Shai and Jokic ,on the first episode of the Zach Lowe Show, makes we wonder if people will debate the 2024-25 MVP like 1961-62? Sure, some forget Wilt finished 3rd, but it’s led to 60 yrs of debates.

This is a stigma that impacts injured workers everywhere. It is all a part of a larger effort to extract value from anyone who is deemed to have the capacity to work. #aninjurytoone #injuredworkerjustice
Accusations that injured workers are engaging in workers' compensation fraud is a tactic commonly used by insurance carriers and self-insured employers to discourage injured workers from filing comp claims. The industry even runs PR campaigns shaming injured workers.

Occasionally it backfires. 1/

Why is CUPW on strike?

It’s about more than wages.

They’re also demanding improved health benefits, strengthened protections against contracting out work to subcontractors & improved protections for workers when technological changes improve efficiency so that workers can share in those benefits.
Why Canada Post workers are on strike
On the morning of November 15, 55,000 postal workers—members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW)— walked off the job. It’s the latest in a series of large-scale public sector strikes that h...
