Usually bored of the digging up GOP quotes from 2016 thing but this is a particularly good one
Ted Cruz in 2016, "We're liable to wake up one morning and Donald Trump if he was President would have nuked Denmark"

"That's not the temperament of a leader to keep this country safe"

Suomeen on tulossa samantyyppinen yleistuki kuin Britanniaan. Britanniassa talouskuri (austerity) ja yleistuki (universal credit) aiheutti ainakin 120 000 ihmisen kuoleman. Kuolinsyitä olivat mm. nälkä ja kylmyys. Haluammeko me oikeasti samaa Suomeen? Minne meidän inhimillisyytemme katosi?

Eduskunta päättää tällä viikolla työmarkkinatuen ja peruspäivärahan yhdistämisestä. Lisää etuuksia aiotaan yhdistää myöhemmin.

Does this mean the ABC are finally catching on to the fact that trying to use interest rates to control inflation is bollocks?

Government decisions are the economy.

It seems George Monbiot is an economics denier.

He thinks financial capital is finite and that we can tax the rich to 'get it back'.

Financial capital is not finite. The ability of a liveable planet to withstand ecological vandalism is.
Your 'bonus moment of doom' for today:

"If, as now seems likely, crucial Earth systems cross tipping points and suddenly collapse, the effects on human life, let alone the survival of other life forms, would destroy the smooth and steady progress he foresees."

I wish we could ignore Bill Gates on the climate crisis. But he’s a billionaire, so we can’t | George Monbiot
Money talks – and his essay denouncing ‘near-term emissions goals’ at Cop30 mostly argues the case for letting the ultra-rich off the hook

The last October that saw a monthly average temperature at or below the 1850-1900 pre-industrial baseline was October, 1976, at -0.18°C below the baseline.

Fun, right?
