potentially good news on this part: it seems careful application of isopropyl does the trick. got a lot of that staining from the paint out that way. seems fine on the fabric from what I observe (someone stop me asap if I'm wrong).

Korn - Issues
My well loved Lucina plush. Damaged over the years but I'm doing what I can to fix her. This is her on the towel after absorbing whatever moisture I can. Drying her off as of posting. Praying she'll still be fine.

Mario Kart DS emblem of Ignignokt and Err (two aliens from the moon with inconsistent pixel sizes; one larger, tired green one and one smaller, angry pink one, respectively) from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Err is resting upside down on Ig's head, flipping birds. Some details had to be adjusted to fit within this scale. Only so much I could've done here.

been playing Kart DS again lately on my spare time here on my travels

Beach Ball
Shaded illustration of two Hummers (Hummer being the horse mascot of Hummer Team) on the beach after a game of beach volleyball. One Hummer, the pink opponent, is shouting maniacally, eyes straining and mouth agape. The other Hummer, the one we all know and love, is pondering with his fist on his chin, eyes closed with the dumbest, widest grin. This is in reference to the video being quoted (and by extension, a joke from the PirateGameThing Discord). The background is a sort of painted beach scene, featuring the sea on the horizon, some palm trees, the sun to the right, the titular beach ball and its net, and a small orange umbrella. Definitely nothing else.

I also had a project where I'd make some generic, official-esque stock art themes for Mario characters back in 2022. challenge for myself was to not use any assets after 2012.

again it's, fine? don't think I'll finish that project though, for a number of reasons (alt text).
Top and bottom screens for a generic Mario theme for TWLMenu++. This was a part of a planned set of character & game-themed... themes, which never got finished (probably never will). The "character theme" template involved artwork of the character (before 2012), the character's name in the modern Mario font, the character's symbol, and a respective gradient color & backing track related. The bottom screen was the aforementioned "25" block artwork above the "SUPER MARIO BROS. 25th Anniversary" text and aforementioned console symbols. Little ugly? Maybe, but I don't have a problem with it. Generic? Yes, but that's the point. The intent was to make something interesting and of the time while also feeling semi-official. This project was gonna have a ton of themes. Only about 10 out of 43 were finished, all of those finished being character ones. This Mario one was shown as an example. Game-related ones would've covered games up to Galaxy 2 and even include a select number of spinoffs. Even with personally made templates set up in place, I felt major burnout after a while. Should there be any interest in these, maybe I could re-do this project at some point? Don't count on it, though.

how much have themes changed since 2022? because all the custom themes I've made from that point were from then.

I think they're, fine? I like some more than others but some could've used some better contrast knowing what I know now about graphic designing.
Bottom half of a Dian Shi Ma Li/BIG TV MARY BAR theme I made for TWLMenu++. It features a big Fortran sprite surrounded by the mushroom and coin sprites from the title screen. The top screen (not pictured) was an edit of the game's title but to read "FOR TWLMENU++ ONLY" instead of "FOR AMUSEMENT ONLY". This one's okay but I felt maybe darkening it wouldn't have hurt for icon contrast. Top half of a Super Mario All-Stars theme I made for TWLMenu++. It has the 5 games' box arts crowding the background, while a tuxedo-clad Mario stands in front of it (using art from the NA box art). Bottom half (not pictured) had an edited version of the "Select Game" sprites but hovering over the icons. A cool little concept I still kind of like. This one's mostly fine though I probably should've added a drop shadow at least. Maybe darken the background if I felt like it? Mario is at least outlined. Both screens to a Mario 25th Anniversary theme I made for TWLMenu++. The top half features the event's logo and four icons (a Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, Starman, and 8-bit Mario; references the DSi XL and Japan-exclusive DSi consoles branded around this event) in front of a red gradient. The bottom screen is also a red gradient featuring monochrome artwork of Mario jumping towards a "25" block. The text next to it reads "SUPER MARIO BROS. 25th Anniversary." I really liked this one, I have it on my Japanese 25th Ann. DSi. Probably could do better with icons (not pictured. They're SMB1 "25" Blocks and Used Blocks with some slight bicubic scaling because DSi icons in TWLMenu++ aren't perfectly a multiple of 16x16) but I think they serve the purpose alright. A Demencia theme I made for TWLMenu++. Top screen is a collage of various screenshots of her from various episodes, set to monochrome with a pink and green gradient over it. Two pieces of artwork of the character (from one of the orientation episodes and one of the really early shorts) are edited to white, semi-transparent outlines. Another piece of artwork cropped from one of the orientation episodes is in the bottom left corner, with her leaning over with her arms behind her back, smiling. There's also text of her name, written in a similar style to her graffiti writing (with a backwards N for coolness, I suppose). The bottom screen is the hat pattern seen on the walls of the Black Hat Organization in the show but with the aforementioned pink and green gradient. I also really liked this one; it was meant to be quite chaotic (as is her nature). Could've contrasted some things better though? That and I don't think I figured out coloring the in-menu text all the way. Definitely want to update this one, one of these days. Fun fact: there was an alternate bottom screen where one of the pattern symbols was replaced with then 2022 art of smol Demencia. I think that was triggered when you set the menu into GB Macro mode.

doing more Somari sprite sheet shenanigans and hit a point where I'm unsure of something but haven't gotten answers in places I've asked, so I'm throwing this out to the wind in hopes of finding any other Somari enthusiasts
