My grandmother on my dad’s side comes from a village in Palestine called Al Walaja home to the second oldest olive tree in the world. The village was ethnically cleansed in 1948 but the tree stands to this day and is about 5000 years old.

Today is day 404 of a genocide of Palestinians. The forced evacuation of Northern Gaza, after its siege and starvation, is a horror we will all have to account for when future generations ask us where we were and how we let this happen.
