All bowling chips on pace, specifically Wood and Archer. One hadn’t played Test cricket in 18 months, the other who prior to the summer hadn’t played Test cricket in four and a half years. Both perpetually injury prone. And they’ll play four of ten Tests this series. Who could have seen that coming?

TMS putting out some great stuff in Ashes build-up. Loved this one with Michael Vaughan as I did last week’s with Stuart Broad. Interviews with players who eat and sleep the game and think about it at a depth rarely seen in other sports. Also incredible recall of events over two decades ago.

One thing about the new ethno-nationalists is they are, just at base, isolated from the culture of their own country. They have no acquaintance with our national game or indeed any major British sport. They have clearly spent little time in any of the UK’s constituent countries other than England.
Possibly the most annoying thing about Goodhart's post is that he clearly has no clue when Ian Wright hung up his boots, nor any of the other black English football players from the 70s, 80s or 90s. If you are going to use sport for your argument, at least know what you are talking about.
