So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

It has flaws, don’t get me wrong. Chief among them being that it took a corridor shooter combat system, plonked it into an open world, and stripped you of direct control of your squadmates. But I’ve enjoyed myself playing it. It did what new ME used to do, which is make me want more new ME.

Lots to build on had the game not been such a mess at launch! Which makes me kinda sad it turned out the way it did. I would like to spend more time with some of these characters, especially the religious scientist and the Salarian pilot who loves the ship bc every inch reminds him of his besties.

And then there’s the hardscrabble nature of the setting, where everyone’s at odds and their survival is an open question unless they pull together. I’m reminded of Battlestar Galactica, or that one Voyager episode where things were actually allowed to run out and/or break down.

Secondly, cool story hooks! Who were the Remnant? Who or what sent The Scourge, and is it unique to the Heleus Cluster or does it plague all of Andromeda?

I’ve said it before: I’m going to laugh like hell when Biden outlives Trump. Laugh like hell.
