As we show in our paper, there is a clear EEA/single market shaped wall keeping the UK out from EU defence industrial instruments.

Looking forward, that means either the UK rejoins the single market, the EU rewrites its third country rules or both settle on a special status.

It’s hard to see how the transatlantic alliance can be resuscitated after this. A pity our government seems to be clinging to the hope that Trump’s America can be managed. I think there’s a real opportunity opening up for the Lib Dems to become a “hard edged” pro European party.

Just reading When the Dust Settles and got to the bit where under Cameron (Coalition?) archival material from decades of disaster management was carelessly ditched. Had to take a break: too angry to read further (at that point).
No wonder this society doesn’t learn from its mistakes.
