I write documentation and I program, so I know lots of ways to use a semicolon. Also, I am making bread, learning Dutch, and doing other normal human activities. 🇺🇸 in 🇳🇱

This came up when I was auditing browser compat data notes recently. How many BCD notes are about closed bugs? No (practical) way to know 😕

So I very much do not love LinkedIn, but my writing gets seen a lot more widely there than anywhere else I post. I treat it as more or less write-only outlet, which seems to suit everyone involved OK. "It's not for me" is my mantra for when I have to login there. 😅

Discount documentation? No thanks! I wrote some suggestions for thinking about "discounts" when a client doesn’t have a lot of cash, but might have other things you value.

I believe that someday, someone is going to make the "British Museum repatriation heist simulator" I'm longing for (and I can't wait for the Vatican and Berlin State Museums DLCs either)

It's the first of the month, which is as great time as any to document something undocumented with a README file. Do it! I promise it'll be satisfying.

I don't know who invented this, but is it time for the *crowd* to start responding to "Good morning" with "Oh c'mon, you can do better than that"?

I think it's being recorded, but I'm also planning to write up highlights after the conference. I'll be sure to share here (and to my website and mailing list) when they're ready.

On August 27, @emckean.bsky.social and I are presenting at Open Source Summit Europe about resources that can help open source maintainers create and maintain docs. I'm looking forward to it (or at least I will be, when I've practiced my outline a few more times). sched.co/25Vub
