This. Like Britain before it with Brexit, the US is revealing itself as a fundamentally unserious, untrustworthy country whose citizens can't be relied on not to vote to punch themselves in the face if they get to say a slur while they do it.
Even then, he was telling me that if a new president comes in and restores all the funding, why should he keep building a career in a country that could do this all again four years down the line and leave him in the lurch. I think a lot of folks are feeling this way

@sgj.bsky.social TBHH is amazing. It’s crept into my dreams like only Robert Aickman stories had before. I’ve read a half dozen of your books and loved each (especially Mapping) but this is the best thing I’ve read in years. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I heard Gov. Abbott asked them to steer clear of the state until he gets to watch some kids die.
Man, there's nothing he loves more than watching kids die.

It would, perhaps, have been good for the management of that company to tell their workforce in the most important swing state in the US that their Christmas bonus depended on Trump not getting elected *before* the election, rather than afterwards. That might have been an idea.
