It is vital to act, and I urge colleagues to do so. How can we stand by and laud this man while he undermines scientific integrity? asks academic and author Kit Yates

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

This is UNBELIEVABLE. Keir Starmer has just handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for a second state visit to the UK. It’s totally unprecedented, and I was so outraged when I he...

Yes, as an American it was humiliating to watch these immoral narcissists humiliate themselves trying to bully brave, beloved Zelenskyy who fights for his people. I don’t have enough words for my rage and heartbreak. For my Ukrainian family members, for all of Ukraine, for America and the world.
Trump & Vance’s behaviour with Zelenskyy just now was disgraceful.

My blood is boiling.

Hare shooting is unfortunately still lawful in the UK, although the 80% decline in numbers of hares has led to calls for a ban on hare shooting during their February to September breeding season.

Britain’s peat bogs store more carbon than rainforests, but many could dry out within 50 years! 😨

That’s bad news for biodiversity, flood control, and our planet.

We're working to preserve these vital ecosystems – keeping them healthy and absorbing carbon:
Most of Britain’s peat bogs could stop forming new peat as the climate changes – new study
But bad news for peatlands could trigger the funding needed to preserve them.

If you want a shot in the arm of hope, the grassroots women's organisations in Northern Ireland are where you'll find it. So much to do and lots of barriers, but the women's movement I saw there has all the passion and dedication I remember of my mother's generation, the movement that made me.
This week the Chief Commissioner Alyson Kilpatrick attended a very constructive meeting at the Foyle Family Justice Centre with Safeguarding Minister @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social & NIO Minister Fleur Anderson to discuss issues including safeguarding and addressing violence against women & girls.

That is very much a problem too. I was on Radio 5 yesterday and the presenter gave the person I was debating against at least twice as long as he gave me and allowed him constantly to interrupt me. I mean, what is the point? To participate is to become complicit in your own defeat.

Has the Times sacked its Media Correspondent? Scrolling through its news list and it’s missed a huge story involving the monarchy, journalist ethics and a billion pound cover up at a hugely powerful media organisation. Surely more important than whether dogs suffer from January blues?

A tracking study has found that dogs walked off-lead cause significantly more disturbance on lowland heaths than pets kept on the lead:

Ah, the Telegraph doing its best to make sure what’s happening in the US also happens here. At some point the “journalists” working for it will realise they’re the bad guys. I hope.
Fairly obviously, due to nature of being undocumented, it's nigh on impossible to get an accurate figure. Considering the vast majority of people who are undocumented become so through absolutely no fault of their own, this is an argument for better routes to regularisation, rather than deportations
