This is exactly why ICE needs to be unmasked and ID’d — like cops.

📌 Cases of ICE impersonators this year alone outnumber the last four presidential terms combined.

China Punishes ‘Excessively Pessimistic’ Social Media Users
As China struggles with economic discontent, internet censors are silencing those who voice doubts about work or marriage, or simply sigh too loudly online.

Remember the claim that we couldn't force a rush to renewables too soon, because it just wouldn't be fair to "developing nations" (i.e. the global majority world)? Welp, turns out they're willing and eager to get in on renewables, and are doing really, really well with them. So.

Developing countries, especially China, led the clean energy charge but richer nations including the US and EU relied more than before on planet-warming fossil fuels for electricity generation." 2/2

Is Trump going to have Americans extrajudicially executed in their homes?

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

It’s a "crisis" when immigrants "take jobs away", but "innovation" when machines do. Funny.

If you haven't been paying attention to the Palestine Action protest arrests in the UK, you may not realize how truly absurd things have become.

Here's a good example: You can be arrested for holding up a magazine because its cover shows the sign, "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action."

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

NEW: I spoke to clergy and faith leaders who've joined protests at the Chicago-area ICE facility.

Three say they've been shot with pepper balls, sometimes while praying.

All say ICE is also violating their religious freedom, and one is arguing it in court. religionnews.com/2025/10/07/i...

It isn't just that you can't express verbal support for Palestine Action. You may also not even be free to simply question the government's decision to ban it. This is the most basic political expression — challenging how leaders govern. And yet.
rick-sco.bsky.social
Yeh, you can't even disagree with the action of declaring Palestine Action a terrorist group. Pretty sure they will just try to arrest anyone with the words Action & Palestine in what they deem to be the wrong order at this point. Some politicians are really in need of swift replacement.

In Trump's America, you're an order of magnitude more likely to get attacked on the street by ICE and the National Guard than by any foreign gang member.

While the censorship part is of course not good, what's more interesting to me is that OFNAA refuses to say which films they banned, and what scenes needed to be cut/altered from the ones they eventually approved. Don't want ppl figuring out ways to sneak around the invisible red lines, I guess? 🤷

One additional takeaway from this is that it's still technically possible to stage a protest in Hong Kong – provided (1) it's a small group and (2) you're criticising the policy of a completely different country that China isn't a solid ally with.
