Kyiv is freezing.

Hundreds of buildings are still without heating or electricity after Russian attacks. Temperatures are dropping to −20°C. Elderly people and families are freezing inside their homes.

Ukraine is Europe.
This is what Russian terror looks like in the 21st century.

Most of Kyiv is without electricity, there's not enough even for critical infrastructure after the Russian attacks.

Many are without heating, as well.

A lot of stores have to close because generators cannot cope in the cold.

Most trolleybuses and trams stopped due to lack of electricity.

Today, January 13, 2026, is day 17 of the protests in Iran. The situation has escalated into total confrontation and information war. The regime is even shutting down Starlink - which means they must be using new electronic warfare (which could have been received from Russia or China).

Invincibility points are places where people can warm up, rest, charge mobile phones and other devices, use the internet, get hot drinks, and receive basic assistance.

Outside: −13°C. Fourth day without heating. Inside many homes: +11°C. Over 1,000 apartment buildings across the city remain without heat.

This is not a movie. This is life under Russian attacks.

Simple yet true - this is indeed today's communication dilemma, and it's too important to leave it to non-experts.

In energy, complexity without a clear takeaway gets ignored. Simpler, louder stories take its place.

My latest piece is about starting with clarity and then layering nuance.

Important power lines are typically configured as closed loops, so that a failure at one location still allows (almost) all substations to be supplied. The Berlin arson attack appears to have targeted a point where both lines run in parallel (the channel crossing).
