I thought the essay by the late Rachel Cooke on disappointing food (R3/BBC Sounds) was very good.

My challenge to myself for this year is to buy no clothes at all. So far so good - although I did see an excellent tiger-print shirt yesterday. 😬

The only radio I can bear to listen to at the moment is Boom Light. Plus Shaun Keaveny - but that goes without saying.

On New Years Day at the #southpole, there is a ceremony to move the geographic South Pole (since the ice underneath the station moves about 10-meters per year) and a reveal of a new marker on top of the Pole. See some pics by Anjali from this years ceremony. #Antarctica @NSF

I love this time of year. The garden is full of flowers, and yesterday I did the tiny flower thing. These flowers are in a violet vase, that was my mother's. This vase is very old, and I treasure it.

For old times' sake I watched Doctor Who: The Sea Devils. I was absolutely terrified by this in the 70s, while also wanting to be Katy Manning.
