I’m an inquisitive generalist looking to engage in more nuanced (political) discussions on a platform where algorithms don’t assume that I’m a unidimensional human. On the same page? Feel free to connect
The new CDC director - Jim O’Neill has VERY BAD IDEAS. Maybe he could learn something from this slide I use for bachelors science students?

Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (imperative for mariners).
I have covered NOAA and it’s work for like 15 years and this is brutal. If you’re there and want to chat or share anything, signal is davelevitan.26

Maybe they can start a go fund me - seems to work for other situations where the US government fails to provide adequate protections for citizens.

Honestly though, all I want for Christmas is reliable and free media coverage. Where can we donate?
A friend asked me about the potential risk of losing public broadcasting funding. If you're interested, I recommend this comprehensive report from "On The Media," which explains what's always saved CPB funding in the past, and why it might not now.
