If engagement via social media was going to work it would have done by now but it just enables talking past each other unless it's done in good faith and I'm not sure that's fixable as an online problem.

I think Meta being as awful as it is doesn't help - i.e. if we're coming off X then why not FB etc and I don't have a good answer to that one.

It's an odd one. I took all the charity accounts I managed off ages ago but essentially under the cover of we're not getting any meaningful engagement there any more (because we weren't) while the ethical argument for leaving didn't always cut as much ice as you'd imagine.
