Having ditched the Mac and gone back to running Linux I was forced to install Ubuntu 22 for workplace compliance.

First yes, Linux is vastly superior to MacOS. Second, having said that, the Ubuntu LTS two years cycle isn't working. It's outdated and outpaced by OSS development. It just feels old.

Just to elaborate on how bad the Mac OS is:

* No fractional scaling.
* It forgets window positions on monitors.
* You need a 3rd party tool to configure Alt+Tab.
* Ditto to configure windows sizing shortcuts.
* Too much eye candy.
* Bloody .DS_Store files.
* Only semi case sensitive.

Really bad.

Been using a M1 Pro MacBook as my work laptop for the past eighteen months and I cannot get over how bad the OS is. Complete disaster. Customization is hard, the workspace is cluttered, the window placing is non-intuitive. Hardware is great, would greatly benefit from a Linux version.

Now is the winter of our discontent turned glorious summer by this global warming effect.
