Huh, maybe you should tell Patrick Condon, who continuously acts like the CoV can be analyzed as an independent unit

An extremely well placed right of way through the South End (rail cut) sends off one train a day to Ontario/Quebec

10% increase in traffic on already congested bridges.

If you hate traffic, this has added over 10,000 vehicles per day, vehicles that clogging up the roads. Vehicles that *literally* weren’t willing to pay $1 to make their trip

He has a similar argument about property taxes increasing rents and I believe he is wrong about that one

Very good, and convincing video on Montreal party politics. I'd like to see Halifax get parties into municipal politics, to bring more coherency and simplicity for voters

This video is a long time coming.

People always ask me: what makes Montreal so ambitious on urbanism? (At least for bikes and pedestrians.)

I've been thinking through this and asking Montrealers, and in this video I want to cover *part* of the answer.

Congrats to our friends at @makehousingaffordable.ca who have been working for this more comprehensive housing action plan for Ottawa.

The most underappreciated issue in urbanism is the Anglosphere’s transit construction cost problem.

It’s not just that we’re spending too much money on any particular project.

It’s that we could be getting *much more transit* for the *same amount of money we’re currently spending*.

Or today's HRM should get to borrowing 😎

Good demonstration of “studying as a replacement for action” form HRM. Someone is studying it, no one willing to put their name on it, and no one to explain why they missed a chance with the redevelopment to get more space

Would be cool to do a scatter plot with population growth by region as the other axis
