Any reporter using the words "Secretary of War" or "Department of War" should no longer be considered a serious #journalist.

There is no Department of War. The divisions & agencies of the #USA Govt are created & monikered by #Congress only.

Can't parse basic #Civics? You're unqualified, go away.

@msnownews.bsky.social just calling on people to make sure to peacefully let the gestapo shoot them dead while the government illegally strips away everyone’s rights.

All of there staunchly anti-people conservatives that are running as Democrats because they don’t like Trump are a fucking Trojan horse.

If the Democratic Party embraces conservative garbage like Conway, what party does anyone that isn’t to the right of Henry Ford vote for?

@morningjoe-msnow.bsky.social, love, “stabilisation, recovery, transition” is NOT a plan.
It’s three empty goals (if you even want to take them seriously).
The “plan” requires the steps to reach those goals.

Can a constitutional legal scholar clarify if this isn’t exactly what the very revered Second Amendment is for?

@governorwalz.mn.gov needs to take any measures necessary, the most extreme, to protect the residents of his state, and he needs to do it NOW.

Tim Walz has got nothing to lose. He needs to leverage the full power of the state government against ICE. Right now.

My thoughts, for what it’s worth. The federal government of the United States is illegitimate. The executive, legislative and judicial authorities have abandoned the constitution, which means that there is no foundation to their authority, which means that we should not regard them as having any.

It has been an obvious, sometimes even almost stated project of Trump 2.0 to engineer a redo of the post George Floyd protests of 2020, this time with much more state violence. And now a federal agent has shot and killed a woman in a car at point blank range a mile from where Floyd was murdered.

Responsible European leadership should probably also entail “de-risking” the US-EU relationship and serious preparation for the “de-coupling” that the White House is clearly working towards.

Europe’s failure to condemn Trump’s illegal aggression in Venezuela isn’t just wrong – it’s stupid | Nathalie Tocci
The more European countries act as colonies, unable and unwilling to stand up to Trump, the more they’ll be treated as such, says Guardian Europe columnist Nathalie Tocci

The fact that nothing is being done about this — and that people keep blithely hanging out on that site as though its owner and a key part of its official architecture aren’t actively enabling disgusting criminal abuse at scale — is making me lose my mind
Every piece of reporting I've seen on this is drastically understating the scale. These are from Grok's replies within a single minute. Time-to-reply is degrading because it has such a backlog of NCII/CSAM requests to fulfill. Conservatively I estimate it is producing more than 5000 of these per day

one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it

Samuel Alito flew two flags used by insurrectionists.

Clarence Thomas' wife plotted to overturn the 2020 election.

Both justices refused to recuse themselves from SCOTUS cases related to the January 6th plot.

It's a stain on our nation that this has effectively been forgotten.

Congress has the power and responsibility to authorize the use of military force and declare war. Congress has a duty of oversight. Congress must serve as a check, not a rubber stamp, to the President.

The fact that Maduro is a dictator who committed grave abuses does not suspend the Constitution.

The military is well aware of what an illegal order is. If they are not familiar with what defending America against enemies foreign and domestic means, they all need to be chaptered out. This is not about a convicted felon president anymore.

Trumpian imperialism in action: kidnap the head of the regime, leaving the rest of it in place so as to access the oil reserves for the US companies. Then realize the oil is actually quite expensive to extract, so go ahead and SUBSIDIZE the oil companies. Perfect.

Yeah, people are fixating on a Cabinet Secretary being given a sovereign country to run because the president waged war without congressional approval and kidnapped the old leader. Weird that they’d get hung up on that.
WELKER: Mr. Secretary, are you running Venezuela right now?

MARCO RUBIO: Yeah. People are fixating on that. Here's the bottom line -- we expect to see changes in Venezuela

For gazillionth time, the standard you walk past is the standard you accept
“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.
