No, you never said you were actually casting the spell. So now there's ogres.

(That particular part of the conversation really got me... I'd been involved in that exact same conversation)

I have not heard of that either.

Perhaps it's reverse of the reason why bright light makes people sneeze, but with the same underlying cause. A crossover between the optic and the trigeminal nerve... except the bright light signal from the optic nerve overloads the sneeze reflex?

The visuals for this are less relevant than they used to be, but it was originally an audio-only sketch.

Yeah, I hate that shit too.

Happens all the time.

I've never understood how the deliberately-loud motorcycles get away with it.

If you have a racing bike you may mod the exhaust so it makes you a little more audible on the road - but you keep your old muffler just in case you have to submit to testing... But Harleys just keep on chugging.

I wondered if anyone would get my very obscure reference.

Thank-you.

And thinking about it... I might have gotten it wrong.

+9 Against ogres sounds more correct.

D'oh.

Yeah... that show went off a cliff... hard.

You'd need an ogre-slaying knife... with a +7 against ogres.

Going forward, I'll still post about music (share the love!), but without the schedule (or self-imposed requirement to not repeat a band).

lower than I'd have thought given the user numbers.

I know the metal community isn't huge and we're talking a subset of a subset, but I'd hoped to find a few more metalheads on here than I have.

That said... I'm kind of amazed that some people found the posts they did.

I will give a shout to the song 'Deliverance' off the namesake album.

Great song, with an awesome drumming section in the final 2:30. I remember soaking that up during a live performance and it lives on in my brain.

It's been some time since I enjoyed an Opeth release. They've gone way too far down a 70's prog rock path for me. Even the most recent album, where the growls returned, the music just didn't work for me.

It means I'm probably not an Opeth fan anymore (at least not at present).

We've already had Muppets in Space.

Lego Star Trek is probably on the cards.

Outlaws is quite a bit better than the negative opinions would say.

We were told to report to grounds.
Our pitch was under water.
A bunch of us with brooms, a mop and an industrial-strength leaf-blower got it playable.

It rained during the match... the water droplets forming on the stumps looked quite pretty.

Not *great* cricket weather, but we still got a game.

Five (or more) is a good number for a tabletop RPG session.

I'm also reasonably happy with Attack of the Clones.

If George Lucas could write romantic dialogue it would make some of the scenes with Anakin and Padme less painful and tedious to watch.

I skip the scenes with them out in the fields and the R2/3PO platforming scene in the factory.
