Plus many weapons were retired and dismantled simply because they had become obsolete.

And even without radiation damage, there's a bunch of stuff in a weapon that aren't necessarily stable over the long term. Electrical and electronic components, plastics, explosives, lubricants... All are subject to aging, degradation, and failure.

Ah, I check it once a day or so on the desktop, which doesn't do that... So I didn't know.

Then... don't use the algorithmic feed.

My wife had never seen the OG on the big screen, so when they re-released them in advance of the prequel trilogy... We went and saw it in the theatre.

I spent a good half the movie watching her jaw drop rather than paying attention to the movie.

"The last time this happened we ended running for our lives from the Duke's army, the Sheriff and his men, two wizards, a red dragon, and Bill's partner.

Bill, you're gonna have to stay sober and sit this one out. We lucked out last time, let's not tempt fate."

That's some very pretty word salad, well dressed with arrogance and garnished with ignorance. And it's existence proof of the correctness of my assertion, which is much more than you've otherwise brought to the table.

Someone with your claimed level of education and experience should know better.

Oh jeez, I went back and read the whole thread, and yeah. That guy is a piece of work.

I always find it amusing when degree holders in [broad field] try and play it as proof of competence in [narrow specialty]. Actual specialists in [narrow specialty] never fail to put that card on the table.

The Cratchits are (IMO) in that weird overlap between white collar working class, and middle class. I think the Victorian British would have understood that better than modern Americans... where that overlap largely vanished after WWII. (Through the working class being promoted into the middle.)

The property is too small to do anything with and in kind of a shit location on the inside of a blind curve... So the city repurposed it as a graffiti wall.
December 10, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Kind of like our local graffiti wall. For decades the home of a tiny, decrepit, dive bar. The property was eventually seized for taxes and the building razed because it was mostly standing only by force of habit.

Spongebob is still a thing? The Sims just did a Spongebob collaboration...

I think you would be surprised to learn that the weight, volume, electrical power, and cooling capacity available on a car exceeds that of a drone, torpedo, or missile by at *least* an order of magnitude or more.

That's the point our host is getting at.

I was about the say the same thing... We've had the capability to "keep flying at the thing an offboard operator pointed you at" since the 1960/50's at least.

The key being "offboard operator did the heavy lifting."

Congrats!

(But I have to wait and see how the budget plays out after Christmas.)
