This is what Trump calls transparency.

It cracks me up seeing pseudo intellectuals that worshipped Chomsky lose their collective minds.

Was Mariners clinching the playoff spot what they meant by rapture? Sweet sweet rapture

I’m convinced gate agents try to one up each other with asking for the weirdest names at airports.

Design is a process. Yes it’s a job function but if it’s done well, they bring along others for the ride.

Don’t get better at telling a machine how to do your job, get better at doing your job, and understand why and how tooling can augment you. The former will be wasted effort, the latter will bring value to you and those around you.

Ai in design will eventually find its place - but right now it feels like the Wild West, where everyone is hungry to make a buck, and slop is rampant.

After 3.5 great years at Fetch, I’m officially back on the job market! UX or product design leadership roles or super interesting senior practitioner roles would be fun.

Send em my way!

Hot take: with the demise of dribbble it’s apparent UX designers are too focused on aesthetics and not enough on business impact. What’s the most beautiful but useless feature you’ve seen in a product?

Most AI design tools today are just ‘assistance layers.’ The real revolution will come when AI fundamentally changes how we conceptualize products. What’s one design task you’d love AI to fully automate?

In a fun coincidence, I ended up working with the Threadless fridge haiku creator/poet @designbyproxy.bsky.social for a couple years back in 2019 or so. Threadless tees were like 40% of my wardrobe in the 2000s.

Had the first Mexican food since leaving TX at a REALLY white place called Who-Song and Larry’s tonight. Feels just wrong. I prefer my Mexican food from the back of a mi choacana, or a food cart called that may be shut down by health services at any moment.

It’s important to recognize that anything “ai” is not new, and how ethically sourced it’s training material has been should be carefully considered
