You and I happen to know that elevators have cameras. Often with SD cards right inside of them in the elevator cab.

... But either way, the hinges on safe and vault doors are typically for the operation of the door, not the security of the container. 👍

Most safes and vaults will have hinges on the outside, because there will be bolt work that extends from the inside of the door into the frame. (Sometimes those are active bolts while other times the bolts on the hinge side are passive and fixed in position)
