@teamsters.bsky.social support for @sbworkersunited.org is really inspiring. It shows the power of worker solidarity, yes. But also Community.
In a massive escalation, Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien has thrown his union's weight behind Starbucks workers.
Without Teamsters making deliveries, thousands of Starbucks stores won't have the supplies they need to serve customers during the busy holiday season. 🙌

Starbucks made $25 billion in PROFIT last year. @sbworkersunited.org is asking for less than 0.5% of that so their baristas can receive a living wage.

Seems reasonable to me. I’ll be getting my coffee elsewhere until Starbucks treats their employees with dignity.

There is a good/great locally-owned coffee shop just around the corner. Avoid Starbucks stores and products until they agree to pay a living wage.
Want to support baristas on strike?

✅ DON'T BUY STARBUCKS products anywhere (and tell everyone you know to do the same!)
✅ Sign our No Contract No Coffee pledge, & find a picket line near you: nocontractnocoffee.org

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Socialism is not inevitable.

Class consciousness does not arise spontaneously.

We have been trained to accept insitutional hierarchies that are harming us.

We need to educate and organize to tear back the veil.

I'd respect Schumer more if he simply said, "Look, if I vote for & support Mamdani, then we lose immense funding from billionaire donors. I can't take that risk."

That way, while still abject cowardice, at least his view is honest. As low as the bar is, I prefer an honest coward to a deceptive one.

The average American family has ~$6000 of their taxes go to corporate subsidies and ~$100 of their taxes go to SNAP for 42 million hungry Americans.

Remember—we don't lack money to serve our neighbors in need, we lack the money needed to satisfy billionaire greed.
