It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

If ever there were a time you might want a separate but equal branch of the United States government to run a check on the president, it would be now ….

It would be so cool if the United States Congress still existed.

Going to war STRICTLY to get access to another country’s natural resources - and for no other pretext or partial moral reason at all - is the type of thing Putin, Stalin, Hitler, and whoever is president in Avatar would do.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

I’m Jewish but as all 4 of these assholes claim to be Christian I think it’s okay to say, “behold, the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.”

Serious question because I haven’t seen anything. Has there been any comment from the White House about the assassination and assassination attempts in Minnesota?

@joeposnanski.com 100% with you on Truly, Madly, Deeply. Was my introduction to Alan Rickman. I watch it every couple years just because!

Tom Brady in a pregame feature notes the recent disasters and tragedies in LA, NOLA, North Carolina, Washington, DC & Philadelphia, hails American generosity and unity. A nice thought but his pal Trump has threatened to withhold aid to Calif. & has crassly exploited these events for political gain.

1st, thank goodness for all the lawyers who were ready and are filing lawsuits left and right to stop the enforcement of the executive orders. I would work for any of them in a heartbeat. 2nd, I am so pissed off at the NFL for taking “end racism” off the end zones for the Super Bowl. Total🐴💩

“Riveting storytelling…”. Almost 150 years wiped out. But, hey, it’s all going to be okay… I can’t.

Hegseth hearings. I didn’t have “invokes Jesus” on my bingo card. Separation of
Church and
State is, what, a quaint idea? I’m sick.

Today is *not* a “peaceful transfer of power.” It’s the completion of a violent coup attempt that began this morning four years ago. Yes, Trump won the ‘24 election; but he was only able to run because we failed to fully confront the fact of that violent coup attempt.
