You’ve gotta be kidding me.

This WaPo editorial presents a misleading revisionist history of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s criminal cases against Trump.

Then it has the gall to compare that to Trump’s overt targeting of his perceived enemies.

Really embarrassing stuff.

But the mere fact that a legal tool might be available does not mean it should be used. The
current rage over Grassley's revelation shows why. Smith showed little restraint in his pursuit of a former president. He charged Trump for official acts he took as president. He sought a gag order to limit Trump's ability to criticize the prosecution. He tried to accelerate the case to try a leading presidential candidate before the 2024 election.

I'm delighted to be wrong on this. CNN & local media have been doing good coverage.
The challenge is to amplify it every time Trump's crew claims the opposite.
That's the maddening Sysephian task facing the media. Trump lies, media reports reality, Trump keeps lying, media moves on.

JUST IN: The Republican Mayor of Fairbanks, Alaska’s second biggest city, lost re-election last night to a Democrat.

Mayor David Pruhs is a conservative who fought protections for LGBTQ+ residents; he made comments this year drew condemnation this year from Alaska Natives. He lost to Mindy O'Neall.

"In various iterations" is doing a helluva lot of work here. Anti-fascists in Weimar Germany ranged from radical armed communists killing early Nazis to the actual GOVERNMENT of Weimar Germany banning fascist militia groups who were killing Social Democrats.

Is any major news outlet programming from Portland this week? If it's a war zone, the guys in cargo vests should be doing live feeds in front of the boarded-up shops. And if it's NOT a war zone **and the President is flagrantly, brazenly wrong**, isn't that a huge story??
