Columbia University has handed over its undergraduate admissions process to Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, who will now decide at their sole discretion whether the university has admitted enough white people. It's no longer an independent institution.

You can never bend the knee enough to appease an authoritarian bully.

This is a devastating blow to academic freedom & freedom of speech at Columbia.

Never in the history of this nation has there been an administration so intent on the utter destruction of higher education as we know it.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

ICE agents are complaining that every time they go out (unmasked/in unmarked cars) protesters are dumping pounds of glitter on them.

So people can identify them as ICE for days afterward.

Time to buy glitter . . .

Bir tane mezarın yok ki, on milyonların kalbine gömüleceksin. Hangi birini ziyaret edem, hangisine yüzüm sürem gardaş.

Git, yolun açık olsun abe can, her daim kıymetlimizsin. Ama gülüş değil ki, bıyık değil ki sana yakışsın; ölüm sana yakışmadı, olmadı gardaş.

Harvard’s President Alan Garber Talks About His Legal Fight With Trump
Alan Garber became a hero to liberals after Harvard resisted the federal government. At the same time, he is trying to remake campus culture in ways the Trump administration might appreciate.

They call on their own president to convene the process to create it. Link to full resolution below.

I strongly believe that higher ed is better positioned than most sectors to respond to the prisoner's dilemmas that authoritarian leaders deliberately create. 🧵

This exciting resolution from Rutgers University Senate is exactly the kind of model I think higher ed needs: a mutual defense pact of, in this case, Big 10 schools. They call for member institutions to create a joint defense fund and make resources available to any member institution under attack.

Keep rolling over for billionaire bullies Harvard! Excellent strategy to destroy what is left of university from a leading academic institution.
Here’s the email that Harvard University’s president, Alan Garber, sent to members of the Harvard community in response to this news.
