So sad to hear of the brilliant Catherine O’Hara’s death. A superb actress and fine human being with perfect comedy timing. I’m also a bit dazed to discover that she made her film debut in “Nothing Personal”, on which I worked as a part-time gofer while in Toronto in 1979. RIP.

I’m having a weird “Friends” Déjà vu here

Unbelievably, it’s 19 years since we made the BBC 50th Anniversary edition of The Sky At Night (I was “script associate”), shot at Sir Patrick Moore’s house in Selsey and on a replica 1957 S@N set in Teddington Studios. Happy days with Patrick, Brian May, Chris Lintott, Jon Culshaw and the team.

Nauseating on so many levels, but this one pipped all the other answers by a mile.

I like the idea in this kind Reddit review that last year's Kingdom Come 'bookends' my three-decade run of trying to create compelling audio out of primarily visual media. That's probably enough now. 2026 is the year of moving on.

Having a traditional 1960s New Years Eve at home tonight with Andy Stewart and The White Heather Club . Will be first footing later with a lump of coal. Please bail us out if we get arrested.

I spent a day recording Rutger Hauer who had a large part in our 2016 Alien: Out Of The Shadows audio drama. He complained about having too much to say and compared it to Blade Runner where he managed to get a two page speech down to two lines. I explained we kind of needed stuff said in our medium.

Happy Christmas BlueSky pals

Go well, Chris Rea and thank you for so much great music, especially after you rediscovered your blues roots. (Also for a superb intimate gig at The Bush Hall back in 2006.)

Michael Roberts just sent me this slightly damaged dressing room photo of himself and Barry Cryer in "A Saint She Ain't" (Dick Vosburgh, Denis King, directed by Ned Sherrin) backstage in 1999. I'm *certain* the sign over Baz's head prohibiting the drinking of alcohol was scrupulously observed.

The number 1 movie when you were ten years old will define your 2026.
(Looks like 2025 Part 2 to me)

Robert Plant and Suzi Dian’s ‘Saving Grace’ began the U.K. leg of their tour last night at Portsmouth Guildhall. Terrific musicianship and an ethereal electric folk repertoire from the 17th to 21st centuries with a bunch of Zeppelins reimagined for today. Try and grab a ticket, you won’t be sorry.

DC have published a celebratory work for the 30th Anniversary of The Death of Superman - this 'Absolute Edition' is packed with detail and replica items, and I was honoured to contribute a chapter about our BBC Radio 'Superman Doomsday & Beyond" audio version which ran concurrently with the comics.

Three years ago I had a Country music gig with Messrs Philip Pope and Rory McGrath - “Death By Country” at Griff Rhys Jones’s Christmas show at Ipswich. Still available for bookings this Christmas.

RELEASED TODAY thanks to Penguin Random House and DC Comics our ‘audio movie’ of the graphic novel KINGDOM COME by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. This production gave me the chance to return after three decades to both Metropolis *and* Gotham City. Here's what the author says about our new version: 1/14
