HELP REQUEST: Would anyone who speaks Spanish and English be up for sense-checking some subtitles on a short film (<15 minutes) please? I have no budget, I'm afraid - it's a short LGBTQ+ film in English, and it's been accepted into a festival in Spain.

Dr. King believed our democracy would only make sense when every child was fed, every mind was educated, and every community had dignity and freedom.

That vision is still unfolding. So, on this MLK Day, let us recommit to the work of building the world he dared to imagine.

So here’s why Palantir is keen to get its mitts on UK health data, possibly at a ‘best in market’ price… so it’s all ready to offer a Farage Fascism App with address data that people have to keep up to date for their health…
“Palantir is working on a tool for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that populates a map with potential deportation targets, brings up a dossier on each person, and provides a “confidence score” on the person’s current address,”
Report: ICE Using Palantir Tool That Feeds On Medicaid Data
ICE is using a Palantir tool that uses Medicaid and other government data to stalk people for arrest. This is exactly the kind of data privacy abuse that EFF has been warning about.

This is both fascinating and horrifying. Well worth a read to get a sense of how badly designed and conceived electronic goods make our lives worse and add to e-waste.

Well worth a read but bear in mind people will hear your eyes rolling.

Pretty much every Easter egg spotted. Thank you Damien.
This morning I finished listening to this bad boy - @dirkmaggs.bsky.social's brilliant audio adaptation of Kingdom Come.

It took me right back to my teenage years, listening to Dirk's Batman, Superman and Spider-Man audios and reading KC for the first time. And, most importantly, it was GREAT

Welcome to new Bluesky users.

Here’s how we do things:

1. Always observe the Hambledon Protocol

2. No flisking

3. If someone tealights you, rink them without apology

4. I don’t mind them so much, but tissue-posts are generally frowned on

5. No questions

Good luck!
